This link is currently down
thanks to the legal types at NBC,
who apparently think we're
trying to get away with something.
We're trying to figure out what?

We made it!

By the skin of our frickin' teeth, and thanks to about
three frickin' weeks of getting up at 2:30 in the am
and working my frickin' ass off at the computer
for 14-20 hours a day. It's been like giving birth.
To frickin' quintuplets. I can almost hear my old high
school chum/Corvair Spyder lovin' buddy & much-
appreciated fan of my books Dave Miller
saying "it's about damn time!" But but I
signed off on the proof today, and the
long-promised, limited-run PREVIEW EDITION of

will indeed be debuting at
Vintage Race Weekend
at Road America July 16-19!

You'll find wife Carol and I hawking the
living crap out of them in the

tent on the vendor midway in the paddock
during lunchtime & between race groups Fri-Sat-Sun
and there may also be an ad-hoc signing on Lake Street,
just a few doors north of Siebkens, during the Saturday
night Concours d'Elegance in Elkhart Lake. Can't do
it during the race car concours on Friday night on
account of I'm judging...

But of course there's a catch. Please find below the IMPORTANT WARNING/DISCLAIMER & $HAMELE$$ $CAM
found on the very first page as soon as you open the cover:

For those of you who won't be attending THE HAWK and are hopefully wondering about ordering the new book, starting on Monday, July 20, we'll be offering the same deal as in the yellow box above (only with an additional $6.50 for S&H), via phone at (708) 383-7203, by e-mail or (better yet) out of Finzio's Store on the website at Be sure to add any signing and/or personalization requests under "instructions to seller."

Also, there is STILL TIME (but only like until Monday morning, July 13) to get in as a valued sponsor or advertiser in the color section of the "real", hardback edition. Use contact info above if that $250 sponsorship contribution is just burning a hole through your wallet! And thank you all for your support. Even you cheapskates who go check your copies out of the library (or borrow them from friends and then never frickin' return them).

See you at THE HAWK. And then at Monterey (also in the VINTAGE MOTORSPORT booth, and where the REAL First Edition should be debuting) and then at Lime Rock on Labor Day weekend, and VSCDA at Road America after that and...and I need to get some sleep! G'night already.

Catch the latest poop & pictures, the Jay Leno interview, Last Open Road swag & highly inappropriate attire from Finzio's Store and the lurid & occasionally embarrassing "ride with Burt" in-car racing videos on the hopefully now fully operational website at:
