BS WARNING!!! OK, so the New Year is here, football is almost over ("finally," say some), racing cars are already starting to make their terrible/wonderful noise and atmospheric pollution at Daytona and I'm already hard at work on the next book. No, really. Plus a frustrating & maddening (but much-needed) reprint and e-book version of the Potside Companion (a task that has been fraught with OLD versus NEW program computer-file issues--aaarrrggghhh!--and is now down to a mano-a-mano, time-consuming/soul-sucking "scan each freaking page from a hard copy and piece it together again brick-by-brick" exercise that has used up an incredible amount of time & energy and has made me even less pleasant than normal to be around...just ask my wife!). Plus things are progressing (albeit slowly, but thankfully steadily) on the long-promised audiobook version of The Last Open Road. It'll be just the thing for those long-haul tows to far-off racetracks.
But I want to alert you Chicago-area types to our first Book Event of the year, which will happen this coming Saturday from 10am-2pm at my friend Tom Snellback's The Last Detail restoration shop & showroom in North Chicago. Better yet, here's a freaking poster:
